Our response area covers approximately 155 square miles in rural Larimer and Boulder Counties. Special services that we provide in addition to Fire Protection and Emergency Medical Services are Search and Rescue, Inspections, Fire Prevention and Mutual Aid to neighboring agencies. The fire district has mutual aid agreements with neighboring fire departments such as Estes Park, Lyons, Left Hand Canyon, Pine Wood Springs and the United States Forest Service. The department operates under a 911 dispatch system through Boulder County Communications. This system is via voice and digital pagers. The fire district operates as a special district and all funding for the operation of the fire district is from property tax revenues and donations. The District is governed by an elected board which meets monthly at the main fire station in Allenspark.
